About the Role

Blue Cross NC is looking for a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis to lead a high-performing finance team and provide expert insights. In this role, you will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and analytical support for operating divisions while collaborating with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Work with other units in Finance and other areas of the company to develop financial products for key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key liaison to engage and mobilize financial resources to address business problems.
  • Lead efforts with divisional leadership to develop and communicate annual operating budgets and monthly forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Integrate operational metrics, analytics, and informatics into financial management goals and strategies.
  • Ensure reporting and analysis of budgets, forecasts, cost allocations, staffing, and benchmarking align with business financial models.
  • Identify underlying business drivers, capacity levels, and operating constraints to maximize throughput at minimum financial cost.
  • Advise divisional senior management on financial matters, assessing long and short-term implications of initiatives.
  • Participate in business case development including staffing/performance modeling and financial management requirements.
  • Work with related finance units to align long-term operating expense targets with target market pricing/affordability requirements.
  • Effectively communicate with COO leadership to maintain focus on corporate, divisional, and business unit goals.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required) and 8+ years of experience in a related field.
  • In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of experience in a related field.

Nice to Have

  • Proven ability to apply strong technical FP&A rigor while driving strategic financial insights.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with cross-functional leaders to influence decisions and shape business strategy.
  • Ability to synthesize data, operations, and strategic priorities into clear, compelling narratives for leadership.
  • Strong collaboration skills with a track record of building alignment across diverse teams.
  • Experience translating insights into actionable recommendations that enhance financial stewardship.
  • Proficiency with Workday, Adaptive Planning, OfficeConnect, and Workiva.
