Lead Employee Relations with Impact
As the Manager, Employee Relations, you will oversee sensitive workplace investigations and ensure organizational adherence to policy and labor regulations. Based remotely within the Pacific or Mountain time zones, you will serve as a key leader within HR Operations, guiding both strategy and execution to maintain a respectful and equitable workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and conduct high-risk investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and serious misconduct
- Review and finalize investigation reports prepared by your direct report to ensure accuracy, objectivity, and consistency
- Advise HR partners and management on disciplinary actions, ensuring decisions are well-documented and defensible
- Supervise, coach, and develop an Employee Relations Specialist, supporting their caseload and career progression
- Act as the escalation point for complex employee grievances beyond the Specialist’s scope
- Collaborate with peer managers to align intake procedures and balance team workloads
- Interpret company policies and employment laws to guide compliant decision-making
- Analyze case trends to uncover systemic concerns and recommend preventive actions
- Partner with HR leadership and Compliance to refine policies in response to legal changes
- Identify training needs for managers and help design programs on employee relations topics
- Deliver training to HR partners on consistent ER practices
- Consult proactively on initiatives to strengthen team morale and engagement
Qualifications
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish
- Proven experience managing complex workplace investigations
- Strong background in disciplinary processes and documentation standards
- Experience leading and developing direct reports
- Deep understanding of labor laws and policy application
- Skill in analyzing case data to identify patterns and risks
- Ability to work remotely from a PST or MST time zone
Compensation & Work Environment
This is a remote position with flexibility to work from locations in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon, or Washington. The base salary range is $111,500–$131,200 annually, with eligibility for corporate bonuses. The role supports a fast-paced, scalable HR function grounded in fairness, consistency, and respect.
