Responsibilities
- Direct the engineering team in managing datacenter infrastructure and system reliability
- Develop strategies for capacity planning and resource optimization across physical and virtual environments
- Oversee deployment and maintenance of servers, storage, and network systems
- Ensure alignment of infrastructure initiatives with organizational security and compliance standards
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for critical system outages
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems with monitoring and automation tools
- Establish performance benchmarks and service level objectives for infrastructure components
- Manage lifecycle planning for hardware refreshes and technology upgrades
- Drive adoption of best practices in configuration management and change control
- Mentor team members in technical and operational disciplines
- Evaluate emerging technologies for potential integration into the datacenter environment
- Support cloud migration initiatives and hybrid infrastructure models
- Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity plans are tested and effective
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers for support and procurement
- Maintain documentation standards for system architecture and operational procedures
- Implement energy efficiency and cost-saving measures in datacenter operations
- Lead onboarding and integration of new systems into production environments
- Promote a culture of automation, observability, and proactive maintenance
- Oversee patch management and vulnerability remediation processes
- Ensure consistent monitoring and alerting coverage across all systems
