About the Role

Collins Aerospace is hiring a Manager, Contracts to provide strategic business leadership for its Strategic Defense Solutions portfolio. In this remote role, you will partner with Program Managers and senior leaders to shape pursuits, negotiate high-value agreements, and drive execution strategies for Integrated Platforms programs in a complex, high-visibility defense environment.

What You'll Do

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and frequently influence business decisions.
  • Implement strategies to improve acquisition timelines and customer pace of contractual actions.
  • Investigate and resolve complex contractual matters by applying astute critical thinking, gathering detailed information, seeking innovative contracting techniques, and proactively collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance on numerous contractual rights, obligations, regulations, and policy to mitigate risks and unauthorized changes.
  • Review proposals to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements, represent a balanced risk/opportunity posture, and deliver a financially sound business case while meeting company policies and standards.
  • Develop pre-negotiation objectives and implement negotiation strategy reviews as part of the proposal development process.
  • Advise the Collins Program Management Office and the Government on changes to contract requirements and ensure a robust change management process is in place.
  • Travel 15%-20%.

What We're Looking For

  • Typically requires a University Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Prior US Government contract experience specifically with Design & Development programs, including Cost Plus Incentive Fee (CPIF), Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), and Firm Fixed Price (FFP).
  • Experience applying and interpreting FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and other applicable U.S. Government regulations in support of contract administration or proposal activities.
  • Experience preparing and negotiating proposals and contracts, including terms and conditions, statements of work (SOW), pricing structures, and fee/profit arrangements.

Nice to Have

  • Top Secret Clearance/SCI eligibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to shape results in support of objectives, including the ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Collins contracts policies.
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or Project).
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve, develop solutions, and support business leaders in achieving financial and performance goals.
  • Advanced Degrees such as a JD Law Degree or MBA or relevant Contracts Certifications such as CPCM or CFCM.
