Lead and shape critical audit initiatives within a federally focused healthcare oversight environment. This role is responsible for directing end-to-end audit engagements, from planning and risk assessment to reporting and follow-up, ensuring alignment with Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) and federal program requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of complex healthcare audits, developing comprehensive work plans and testing strategies
- Ensure strict adherence to federal regulations, GAGAS, and internal quality controls
- Supervise, mentor, and support the professional growth of audit staff
- Review audit documentation, findings, and final reports for technical accuracy and completeness
- Present clear, data-driven results and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Identify systemic risks and contribute to improvements in audit processes and controls
- Support the evolution of audit methodologies to enhance effectiveness and efficiency
Qualifications
- Proven background in healthcare audit environments, particularly within regulated or government-adjacent settings
- Strong grasp of federal health program rules and compliance frameworks
- Direct experience managing audit teams and leading multi-phase engagements
- Thorough understanding of Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS)
