Inventive Food Technology (IFF) is hiring a Maintenance Trainee B

Job Summary It's an exciting time to be part of IFF. We're on the hunt for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at our manufacturing site in Gibson City, IL. In this role, you'll be the go-to person for keeping our industrial process and packaging equipment running smoothly. Think of yourself as a mechanical maestro – replacing parts, repairing equipment, and staying ahead of maintenance needs. This position kicks off at a starting wage of $20 per hour. Your earnings will grow in line with union rates, state laws, and your individual performance. Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Execute maintenance work orders • Perform preventative/predictive maintenance on assigned equipment • Install and align new/repaired equipment using laser alignment tools • Service, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues across pumps, grinders, conveyors, fans, fire protection systems, and service piping (steam, water, process, hydraulic and pneumatic) • Verify successful repair/installation before handing equipment back to operations • Maintain strict adherence to site safety, environmental, and other policies Required qualifications: • High School Diploma/GED • 3+ years of maintenance experience in industrial, manufacturing, military, or related settings • Basic knowledge of hand tools and troubleshooting skills • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency • Positive attitude with an open mind for learning • Strong communication skills for gathering mechanical failure information • Flexibility to adapt to changing daily work conditions • Ability to work comfortably outdoors and indoors in varied weather • Comfortable with repetitive motion and lifting • Capable of climbing and working in elevated or confined spaces • Can stand/sit for extended periods • Available for day shift with rotating on-call schedule in a 24/7 facility We're a global leader in taste, scent, and nutrition, offering customers innovative natural solutions.
