Inventive Food Technology (IFF) is hiring a Maintenance Tech II

🔧 Maintenance Technician - HVAC & Building Systems The Palo Alto Research & Development Site is on the hunt for a mechanically savvy individual to join our Facilities team. This role goes way beyond typical maintenance — you'll be a key contributor to our site's maintenance strategy, handling equipment repair and upkeep for labs, process operations, and common areas. By bringing this position in-house, we're moving away from contractor services and ensuring a personalized level of care that external teams simply can't match. (This role was previously held by Riky Arroyo.) Knowledge & Skills We're Looking For: • Working knowledge of HVAC and related mechanical systems • Familiarity with pneumatic and digital control systems • Strong understanding of general building maintenance • Experience with equipment like: - Boilers - Air Compressors - House Chillers - Cooling Towers - Centrifugal Pumps - Variable Frequency Drives - Heat Exchangers - HVAC Air Handling systems • Skilled with hand, shop, and power tools • Solid written and verbal communication • Self-starter with top-notch organizational skills • Comfortable with MS Office Specific Duties: • Conduct maintenance and troubleshooting across site systems • Repair building systems (mechanical seals, pumps, piping) • Manage individual work requests diligently • Support spare parts inventory • Communicate effectively with scientists, engineers, and production staff • Ensure all functions meet safety regulations and company policies At IFF, we're global leaders in flavor, fragrance, and nutrition.
