Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor to lead comprehensive building management for our Lansing, MI facility. This critical role provides supervisory oversight for the 2nd shift (Tuesday-Saturday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM), ensuring continuous facility operations through hands-on team leadership, vendor coordination, and emergency response.
What You'll Do
- Conduct daily safe operating tours and supervise the team through the Manager's Shift Turnover Logbook.
- Prioritize and distribute Help Desk Work Orders using systems like MAXIMO alongside scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Provide supervisory coverage for Housekeeping staff and oversee the work of outside contractors and vendors.
- Monitor the operational budget, support annual budget development, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Lead the implementation of comprehensive emergency procedures and provide support for all facility emergencies.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations including EPA/OSHA, safety programs, and JLL audit standards.
- Maintain critical building system knowledge, accurate logbooks, and ensure proper inventory levels.
- Communicate regularly with building occupants regarding work order status, project timelines, and activities.
- Organize files, documents, and blueprints per company requirements.
- Ensure shop and work areas are clean, organized, and tools are properly inventoried and maintained.
What We're Looking For
- College degree or equivalent work experience in Facilities Management with a technical emphasis.
- Minimum 5-7 years of industry experience in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with MAXIMO or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Proven ability to manage contractors, vendors, and budgets effectively.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and professional relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation.
- Must be available to work the scheduled 2nd shift and flexible for emergency response outside normal hours.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Facilities management certification (CFM, FMP, SFP).
- Experience in commercial real estate or corporate facilities and advanced MAXIMO system experience.
- Project management certification or experience.
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS), energy management, or sustainability initiatives.
- Previous experience in critical environment facilities like data centers or laboratories.
- Additional certifications in HVAC, electrical, or other building systems.
