Berliner Wasserbetriebe is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic (Instandhaltungsmechaniker:in) to join our Technical Service team. You will be the backbone of our functional processes and facilities, ensuring Berlin's water supply and wastewater infrastructure, area and building management, and vehicle fleet operate smoothly.
What You'll Do
- Perform various maintenance tasks, repairs, overhauls, troubleshooting, installations, and dismantling of equipment in wastewater treatment plants.
- Ensure the operational availability of hydraulic, mechanical, and process engineering systems and pneumatic components.
- Determine material requirements for task execution.
- Fabricate custom spare parts.
- Collaborate with third parties and instruct the operator before commissioning systems.
What We're Looking For
- Completed apprenticeship as an Industrial Mechanic (Industriemechaniker:in), Plant Mechanic (Anlagemechaniker:in), Construction Mechanic (Konstruktionsmechaniker:in), Mechatronics Technician (Mechatroniker:in), Tool Mechanic (Werkzeugmechaniker:in), or Machinist (Zerspannungsmechaniker:in).
- In-depth knowledge of various machining processes (Spanverfahren).
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic system components as well as pipe saws.
- Knowledge of the assembly of longitudinal and circular rakes as well as screens.
- Valid Class B driver's license.
- Valid crane operator's license (Kranschein).
- Teamwork, customer orientation, communication skills, and a willingness for further training and change.
