About the Role

Capgemini is hiring a Mainframe DevOps Engineer to support large-scale application migration and modernization on IBM Z. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert for converting legacy SCMs to DBB/Git/IDD, building mainframe CI/CD pipelines, and enabling clients through hands-on guidance and training.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and execute SCM migration projects from CA Endevor and other tools to DBB/Git/IDD.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize DBB/Git/IDD environments on z/OS.
  • Analyze, convert, and validate applications managed by Endevor.
  • Build and debug mainframe CI/CD pipelines using Groovy, YAML, Git, and DBB.
  • Work hands-on with z/OS, JCL, COBOL, PL/I, and VSAM/QSAM as needed during migrations.
  • Deliver training sessions and create technical documentation for clients.
  • Collaborate with IBM and client teams to ensure successful transformation outcomes.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 7+ years in mainframe systems programming or development.
  • 4+ years in customer-facing consulting roles.
  • Proven experience in SCM modernization, mainframe DevOps, or lifecycle management.
  • Strong analytical ability and experience working independently or on globally distributed teams.
  • Deep background in z/OS development or systems programming.
  • Proven installation, migration, and troubleshooting experience on IBM Z.
  • Hands-on scripting expertise with Groovy and YAML.
  • Strong Git expertise (repos, branching, merges) and pipeline debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing experience.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex DBB/Git/IDD conversion issues.

  • Compensation range: $65,200 - $169,000/year.
