Quora is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer Intern - Poe (Remote)

Quora is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer Intern to work on our Poe product. This is a 16-week internship beginning in January, where you will contribute directly to company goals by working on important projects alongside full-time employees. The role includes mentorship and code reviews.

What You'll Do

• Participate in developing LLM applications including information retrieval, search and discovery, and multi-bot agents.
• Ensure smooth and engaging user experiences across these applications.
• Refine and optimize prompting for AI systems.
• Incorporate new LLM capabilities, such as function calling and tool use, to improve outcomes.

What We're Looking For

• Availability for meetings and communication during Quora's coordination hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm Pacific Time).
• Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field at a Canadian University.
• Knowledge of Python or C++, or the ability to learn them quickly.
• Knowledge of integrating and deploying LLMs.
• A passion for learning and always improving yourself and the team around you.
• Love of the Quora and/or the Poe product.

Nice to Have

• Prior software engineering internship experience with software engineering or AI systems.
• Proficiency in modern backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Node.js, Django) and frontend libraries (e.g., React, Next.js).
