Oura is seeking a Machine Learning Data Scientist to join our Women’s Health team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and commercializing novel machine learning models and algorithms using wearable health data to directly improve women's health outcomes. You will work from initial proof-of-concept research through to commercialized product features.
What You'll Do
- Build and deploy machine learning pipelines and models for Women’s Health features.
- Work closely with a cross-functional team of scientists, product managers, software developers, product designers, and test engineers to commercialize new features.
- Deliver robust statistical analyses of machine learning models for performance evaluation, monitoring, and product decision support.
- Conduct early stage exploratory research to identify new potential health sensing features and functionality.
- Develop proof-of-concept features and work with a cross-functional team to take these from POC to a commercialized product.
What We're Looking For
- PhD in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, biostatistics, computer science or a related field, OR a Master degree in related fields with 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- 3+ years of solid programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience with multiple machine learning and statistical modeling approaches.
- Strong understanding of probability and statistics.
- Experience developing and validating time-series algorithms.
- Self-driven, motivated, pragmatic can-do attitude and delivery-focused mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate work to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Comfortable working with a diverse, global team, accommodating weekly off-hour meetings with European colleagues.
- Ability to travel for onsite meetings up to 3 times per year.

- Compensation: Region 1: $142,000 - $178,000; Region 2: $130,000 - $163,000; Region 3: $120,000 - $150,000. + equity packages included.
Work Mode
This is a remote role open to candidates in the US. There is a slight preference for San Francisco, CA. Oura has offices in San Francisco and San Diego, and employee hubs in New York City, Boston, Los Angeles, Seattle, and more.
