About the Role

loanDepot is seeking an experienced Leader for our Examinations & Reviews function. This role is responsible for planning and executing regulatory exams and GSE, investor, and agency reviews for our mortgage lending business. You will monitor, analyze, and respond directly to regulators and investors, while ensuring findings and remediation are tracked effectively.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare exam requests and inquiries, review documents and data requests, and determine appropriate individuals for response.
  • Coordinate with and gather data from a variety of team members and partners, manage any required follow-ups, validate data, and ensure all responses are complete, accurate, and submitted timely.
  • Track and report on the progress of regulatory exams.
  • Prepare and timely file periodic regulatory reports, including the Mortgage Call Report (MCR).
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders; escalate and resolve issues as applicable.
  • Act as the examinations/review primary point of contact for regulators, agencies, and investors.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of eight (8)+ years’ compliance experience in the mortgage or financial industry.
  • Minimum of three (3)+ years’ experience managing and/or conducting examinations and reviews, including overseeing remediation plans.
  • Experience in managing or assisting with examinations and GSE, investor, and agency reviews for a mortgage lender.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position.
  • Familiarity with mortgage regulations, financial services industry best practices, and GSE/investor requirements.

  • Compensation range: $74,000 - $129,500.
