loanDepot is looking for a Loan Consultant to cultivate new business and guide customers through the mortgage process. In this outside sales role, you’ll build relationships with real estate professionals and analyze applications to secure credit approval.
What You'll Do
- Spend a minimum of 50% of working hours outside the office conducting sales calls to build and maintain referral relationships with builders, realtors, and consumers.
- Analyze potential marketing opportunities to develop future business.
- Meet with borrowers to determine the best loan program after analyzing their income, assets, credit, and property.
- Collect all required documentation from borrowers and convert it to paperless documents.
- Read and understand rate sheets, product codes, and loan-level price adjustments to calculate rates and fees.
- Negotiate and confirm rates, fees, and lock terms with customers, then lock loans in the system.
- Communicate positively with operations staff throughout the loan process to ensure a smooth closing.
- Manage the loan pipeline with all team members to meet company efficiency standards and maintain minimum productivity goals.
- Communicate regularly with borrowers to meet their expectations.
What We're Looking For
- An NMLS loan originator license is required.
- 1+ years of experience working in a mortgage loan origination capacity.
