DT Global Asia Pacific is looking for an LLN Teacher to provide critical Language, Literacy, and Numeracy support for TVET students in Nauru. In this role, you will develop and implement creative learning strategies that enable secondary school students and adults to succeed in their vocational studies. Your work will directly contribute to improved workforce and community outcomes in Nauru, aligning with our mission to co-create locally led solutions for complex challenges.
What You'll Do
- Collect and analyse data around literacy and numeracy levels of TVET students, including secondary school students, community participants, and industry participants.
- Conduct diagnostic testing to determine pre-intervention LLN levels.
- Develop and deliver engaging LLN lessons plans, using diverse methods to address individual learning styles.
- Ensure positive and supportive learning environments that promote safe and respectful classroom behavior.
- Provide out-of-class support as required to maintain student engagement in LLN programs.
- Collaborate with and provide advice to TVET teachers to support effective LLN interventions.
- Make recommendations to the Secretary DVTPD about strategies to improve LLN competency.
- Prepare reports on outcomes of LLN interventions.
- Participate in professional development activities determined by the Secretary DVTPD and ongoing development to improve your LLN intervention skills.
What We're Looking For
- Experience teaching Language, Literacy, and Numeracy to diverse learners, including youth and adults.
- Proven ability to develop, deliver, and adapt lesson plans for varied learning styles.
- Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and report writing to track student progress and program outcomes.
- Experience conducting diagnostic assessments to identify learning needs.
- Ability to create and maintain a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with trainers and stakeholders.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of LLN.
Team & Environment
Decision-making is expected to be collaborative and involves engaging with internal and external stakeholders. You will consult with senior managers in the Department of Vocational Training and Professional Development.
Work Mode
This is a local-country position based in Nauru.
