Samsung Electronics America is hiring an LLM/SW Development Lead to spearhead the design, development, and evaluation of state-of-the-art language models for Samsung Design. In this role, you will lead a newly formed AI team, focusing on advancing techniques like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and exploring next-generation alternatives. You will drive the technical vision and software strategy, integrating AI into broader system architectures for production.
What You'll Do
- Implement and research large-scale language models using RAG, fine-tuning, and few-shot learning.
- Explore RAG replacement techniques to improve efficiency and integrate new data sources.
- Design and implement AI systems and applications that simulate human intelligence processes.
- Collaborate with designers, data scientists, and other engineers to integrate AI into production system architectures.
- Oversee the AI-related design, development, and implementation of design innovation projects and new software systems.
- Drive the technical vision and software strategy for the organization and set a medium-term AI strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development in software and hardware, to align technical projects with business goals.
- Build robust evaluation frameworks to measure AI feature effectiveness and guide continuous improvement.
- Create reusable components and patterns for LLM integration that can scale across the entire platform.
- Implement effective safeguards and content filters to ensure appropriate and usable AI-generated content.
- Establish comprehensive documentation and engineering patterns that enable future AI feature development.
What We're Looking For
- Masters or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional software development experience with C++ and Python.
- Experience developing with machine learning frameworks TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Expertise in LLMs, including their architectures and training methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with RAG techniques and Python frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Strong background in NLP tasks such as text generation and summarization.
- Programming proficiency in C++, Java, or Python and their APIs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a results-oriented attitude.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and debugging.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with RAG replacements or advancements.
- Experience in Generative AI, including hands-on implementation of state-of-the-art models.
- Model optimization and knowledge distillation.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
- Expertise in managing software development projects from conception to completion.
