Our organization collaborates with governments, communities, and institutions to deliver child-centered, tablet-based learning experiences that are accessible, effective, and economical. We are a United States-based nonprofit operating across seven Sub-Saharan African countries. Role Overview Over the next five years, our objective is to support over 4 million children annually across multiple countries, targeting triple the standard literacy and numeracy outcomes of existing national education systems in Africa. We seek a Curriculum & Pedagogy Lead to guide our digital learning approach for grades 1-4 and beyond. The ideal candidate will transform foundational literacy research into engaging, culturally relevant digital learning experiences for first-time readers using low-cost tablets. This role involves translating pedagogical insights into intentional, inclusive, and measurable learning moments, collaborating closely with multiple organizational teams. Key Responsibilities Pedagogical & Curriculum Leadership - Develop comprehensive learning models for foundational literacy - Create scope, sequence, progression maps, and mastery criteria - Transform pedagogical principles into digital learning strategies - Champion accessibility and inclusive design approaches Content & Experience Design - Oversee content translation into interactive learning activities - Define content quality standards and evaluation criteria - Make strategic language and cultural context decisions - Guide localization and adaptation processes Assessment & Evidence - Architect measurement frameworks connecting learning objectives to outcomes - Specify analytics for monitoring educational progress - Collaborate on field trials and impact studies - Use evidence to refine curriculum design Data-Informed Adaptivity - Design diagnostic tools and reporting mechanisms - Define adaptive learning logic and progression strategies Cross-Functional Collaboration - Integrate pedagogical insights with technical development - Establish partnerships with educational institutions Requirements Core Qualifications - 6+ years designing foundational literacy programs - Deep expertise in early literacy pedagogy - Proven experience scaling digital learning experiences - Strong assessment and data interpretation skills Desired Experience - Curriculum design for resource-constrained contexts - Understanding of African educational landscapes Personal Attributes - Mission-driven with passion for educational equity - Empathetic toward learners and educators - Visionary thinking with practical implementation skills - Cross-cultural sensitivity and field engagement Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
