Mercy Health is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Neurology and Medical Surgical unit at Springfield Regional Medical Center. In this role, you will deliver safe and efficient care to patients using direct nursing interventions. You will be responsible for general clinical and clerical duties associated with both direct and indirect patient care as part of our faith-based, patient-focused organization.
What You'll Do
- Give direct nursing care and assist with patient care at the direction of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Physician, Physician Assistant, or Advanced Practice Nurse.
- Implement the plan of care by providing direct basic nursing care in accordance with the LPN scope of practice.
- Perform phlebotomy services.
- Contribute to the plan of care with input from the patient, family, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Administer ordered medications and treatments, within your scope of care, as prescribed by a Licensed Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner while using appropriate medical equipment as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- A High School Degree or GED.
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program.
- Current state licensure as an LPN or LPN applicant.
- Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia class with a passing grade on the exam (required for Telemetry/Remote Telemetry units).
Nice to Have
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- One year of clinical patient care experience (e.g., as a PCT, CNA, or LPN) in an acute care setting, long-term care facility, or physician practice.
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training.
