Provide comprehensive mental health and substance use care to youth in a secure, therapeutic setting. You'll conduct assessments, design individualized treatment plans, and deliver individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based practices. Your work will directly support emotional regulation, behavioral progress, and recovery goals for adolescents with complex needs.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate behavioral and emotional health concerns and monitor treatment response
- Create and implement clinical treatment plans aligned with developmental needs
- Deliver ACRA-based substance use programming and therapeutic interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, probation officers, and community partners
- Support crisis prevention and participate in on-call rotations
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with state standards
- Lead de-escalation efforts and promote a safe, therapeutic environment
Requirements
Candidates must hold a current Nebraska license or provisional license in mental health practice or substance use counseling. Eligibility is tiered based on licensure level: full or provisional mental health practitioner, alcohol and drug counselor, or dual credentials. All applicants must meet requirements under Nebraska State Statutes 38-2122 and 38-316.
Required knowledge includes the DSM, developmental psychology, mental health disorders, substance use patterns, behavioral intervention models, and bio-psychosocial frameworks. You should understand cultural and systemic influences on mental health and be skilled in individual and group facilitation, assessment, diagnosis, and conflict resolution. Strong written and verbal communication abilities are essential for coordinating care across systems.
