About the Role
The Legal Counsel will provide legal guidance across multiple business functions, interpret laws and regulations, draft and review agreements, and assist in risk management initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal matters affecting operations
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations
- Support corporate governance and regulatory reporting requirements
- Identify and assess potential legal risks
- Collaborate with departments to implement risk mitigation strategies
- Manage intellectual property filings and protections
- Oversee external legal counsel when necessary
- Assist in mergers, acquisitions, or other business transactions
- Maintain legal documentation and contract databases
- Monitor changes in relevant legal frameworks
- Provide input on policy development and updates
- Support litigation preparation and responses
- Handle data privacy and information security legal issues
- Work with HR on employment law compliance
- Participate in due diligence processes
- Ensure adherence to ethical and legal standards
- Represent the organization in legal discussions
- Manage insurance-related legal matters
- Assist with international legal compliance where applicable
