Commerce is hiring a Legal Analyst

Role Overview

This position supports the Legal team in managing commercial agreements, litigation processes, and legal operations across a remote environment based in Mexico. The Legal Analyst will act as a central point of coordination between attorneys, business units, and external partners, ensuring legal workflows are efficient, well-documented, and aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming legal requests by gathering context, identifying business needs, and assigning tasks to appropriate legal resources.
  • Conduct preliminary reviews of contracts to verify compliance with internal standards, identify missing terms, and highlight potential risks with actionable recommendations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate standard agreements such as NDAs and commercial contracts, with oversight from attorneys when necessary.
  • Support the negotiation of complex legal documents by preparing redlines, tracking unresolved items, and facilitating communication between legal and business teams.
  • Ensure all contractual documents are accurate, fully executed, and properly archived, including signatures, exhibits, and required clauses.
  • Lead multi-phase legal initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, maintaining timelines, dependencies, and clear documentation.
  • Develop and maintain project plans to monitor progress and prevent delays across concurrent legal efforts.
  • Act as a communication hub—providing updates, documenting decisions, and ensuring accountability across teams.
  • Identify inefficiencies in legal processes and implement solutions to improve speed and reliability.
  • Build and manage centralized legal resources, including templates, playbooks, and response libraries for consistent use across departments.
  • Support the development of automated workflows and standardized practices to enhance legal operations.
  • Ensure data integrity in the contract management system and oversee the contracting lifecycle from initiation to execution.
  • Prepare routine legal correspondence, internal memos, and documentation as needed.
  • Assist with litigation tasks such as document organization, discovery coordination, and communication with outside counsel.
  • Conduct legal research and deliver concise analyses to support decision-making.
  • Investigate high-priority legal issues, assess risks and benefits, and present findings with practical solutions.
  • Utilize AI platforms like Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini to accelerate research, generate content, and scale legal processes.
  • Stay informed about emerging legal technologies and recommend tools that can improve team efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, track deadlines, and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish—written, spoken, and reading.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex legal matters into clear, actionable updates.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities without compromising accuracy.
  • Sound judgment when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting and drive projects to completion.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
