AECOM is hiring a Lead/Principal Engineer - HVAC(Building Engineering)

About the Role

This position leads the development and implementation of HVAC solutions for complex building systems, ensuring designs meet performance, regulatory, and efficiency standards while supporting project teams across multiple phases.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for building projects
  • Oversee technical aspects of engineering deliverables across project lifecycles
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations and system specifications
  • Support project management with scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning
  • Conduct design reviews and quality assurance checks
  • Develop system layouts and equipment selection based on project requirements
  • Collaborate with architects and consultants during design phases
  • Address field issues and provide solutions during construction
  • Optimize system performance for energy efficiency and sustainability
  • Produce construction documentation and technical submittals
  • Lead value engineering efforts to improve cost-effectiveness
  • Ensure designs align with client objectives and operational needs
  • Manage external vendors and subcontractors when required
  • Participate in commissioning and testing of HVAC systems
  • Stay current with advancements in HVAC technology and building codes
  • Support business development through technical proposals
  • Maintain project records and documentation
  • Troubleshoot system performance issues post-installation
  • Ensure safety standards are integrated into system designs
  • Lead efforts to meet environmental and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders
  • Support continuous improvement of engineering processes
