The Lead Technical Architect (T24) is a senior role within Temenos project teams, responsible for defining and communicating the overall technical and non-functional solution design. As part of Temenos, a leader in banking software, this role acts as a key interface between the client and project team, ensuring technical alignment with business requirements, contractual obligations, and project plans while providing architectural leadership and mentoring to technical teams.
What You'll Do

- Act as an ambassador for Temenos product solutions throughout a customer engagement
- Identify, evaluate and offer mitigation strategies for technical risks
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on the optimal implementation of Temenos products within the client’s infrastructure
- Achieve desired non-functional characteristics such as online and COB performance, high availability, disaster recovery, and associated testing strategy
- Represent Temenos within the project/program Design Authority to promote benefits of a solution based on established Reference Architectures, Core Product, and Model Bank
- Adhere to governing principles agreed between Temenos and the client for the project
- Provide an effective link between the project team and Development Teams and the Technology Product Group regarding Reference Architecture and Sizing information
- Help the Project Manager prevent scope creep and eliminate inconsistent solutions
- Provide transparency on the entire solution design process
- Ensure that the Technical Consulting and architectural elements of Temenos Implementation Methodology (TIM) are understood by the client and adhered to by project team members
- Help the Project Manager negotiate and agree any specific technical or architectural divergences from TIM with the client
- Communicate technical or architectural divergences to project team members
- Review and supervise technical System Amendment Requests (SARs) and process changes (L1 Developments)
- Work closely with client, project team members, and Regional and Local development teams (L2 & L3) to develop a robust and viable architecture related to customer value and business benefit
- Take ownership for applying leading practice in terms of methodology and component re-use across the whole Temenos footprint
- Coach other Technical Consultants
- Provide advice and guidance to the client on environment management and release control between various pre-live environments
- Obtain client agreement on proposed technical solutions including end-to-end process overviews
- Complete Solution Design Documents for technical areas as defined in work package
- Define technical solutions for customization and configuration needs for TEMENOS products as per agreed technical definitions
- Ensure completion of TAABS data collection through the Technical Process Analysis phase of the project
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) where required from a continuity perspective on projects
- Liaise with TEMENOS maintenance groups to ensure product problems identified are understood and resolved
- Be seen by clients and colleagues as a thought leader within the project team and by peers within Temenos
- Specialize in at least two of the following technical areas: technical architecture and best use of TEMENOS Client services tools, configuration of TEMENOS products or interfaces, data migration and related activities
- Master tasks and technical problems on a wide range of complex issues
- Prove general proficiency in the tools, systems, procedures required to accomplish the job
- Lead the installation of custom enhancements
- Give final validation on technical set-up
- Conduct necessary testing to ensure user acceptance and global quality of the solution delivered
- Supervise specific technical parts of the implementation plan when needed
- Perform other duties, functions, and services consistent with status or vocational ability as required
- Travel to client sites (mandatory)
- Oversee the development and implementation of integration interfaces, APIs, message queues, or other integration technologies
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of ten years of experience in software technical consultancy including T24 implementation experience in a banking environment
- Programming in Infobasic, Java, Javascript
- Experience with Application Servers (jBOSS, Web Sphere, Web Logic)
- Experience with OS (Windows, RedHat Linux, IBM AIX)
- Understanding of RDBMS; knowledge of MSSQL, DB2 and Oracle RDMS
- Exposure to mainframes
- Understanding of industry concepts such as: Java VMs and artefacts (WAR and EAR files), performance tuning, JMS
- Understanding of componentisation of applications
- Understanding of role of an ESB for event driven messaging and orchestration
- Understanding of concepts for Internet Security, Intranet security, cryptography, data tampering, firewalls
- Understanding of Single Sign On concepts / supported solutions, LDAP / Active Directory
- Understanding of approach to Process Workflow and Human Workflow – jBPM exposure an advantage
- Understanding of Web Services
- Understanding of Penetration, stress and performance testing
- Knowledge of Event-driven architecture, API integration, Integration and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and the ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Good Temenos product knowledge and knowledge of general Architecture of T24 and related interfaces
- Strong awareness of Industry and market developments
- Good overall company knowledge
- Technical knowledge: Application Servers (jBOSS, Web Sphere, Web Logic), OS (Windows, RedHat Linux, IBM AIX), Understanding of RDBMS; knowledge of MSSQL, DB2 or Oracle RDMS, Exposure to mainframes
- Understanding of concepts for Integration (i.e. Integration of data or user accounts between multiple systems for a client)
- Understanding of concepts for Internet Security
- Understanding of Single Sign On concepts / supported solutions
- Understanding of approach to Process Orchestration
- Product knowledge: Temenos portfolio with expert knowledge in one specific product
