Lead Recurring Giving Specialist (Fundraising)

Drive the strategy and execution of a growing recurring donor program with a focus on retention, upgrades, reactivation, and long-term donor value. This role is central to shaping how supporters engage over time through thoughtful, data-informed journeys across email, direct mail, SMS, on-platform messaging, and self-service tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end recurring giving program, designing strategies to expand the base of sustaining donors and reduce attrition.
  • Develop and refine upgrade paths using donor behavior, giving history, and lifetime value segmentation.
  • Design personalized donor experiences from onboarding through reactivation, ensuring consistency and relevance across all touchpoints.
  • Manage and improve dunning workflows, including payment recovery, retry logic, and lapse prevention campaigns.
  • Optimize self-service donation tools to enhance donor control and satisfaction.
  • Oversee campaign execution, from segmentation and data selection to performance tracking and iteration.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and adjust tactics to meet revenue goals for retention, recovery, and donor growth.
  • Collaborate with data and fundraising teams to ensure insights guide program development and forecasting.
  • Contribute to budget planning, performance modeling, and acquisition strategy as it relates to recurring support.
  • Support research initiatives such as surveys and user testing to inform improvements in donor engagement.
  • Work cross-functionally to align recurring giving with broader fundraising and audience development goals.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing recurring donation programs and analyzing donor behavior to improve retention and lifetime value.
  • Deep understanding of donor segmentation, campaign testing, and multi-channel fundraising principles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret KPIs and translate data into strategic action.
  • Experience with dunning processes, payment recovery, and donor journey optimization.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a track record of working across teams to deliver donor-centered outcomes.
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to testing, learning, and continuous improvement.
