About the Role

This position leads the development and implementation of asset protection strategies, ensuring electrical network safety, performance, and long-term resilience through data-driven planning and engineering insight.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and continuous improvement of asset protection strategies
  • Analyze performance data to identify risks and improvement opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with industry technical and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on system upgrades
  • Support investment planning through robust technical justification
  • Monitor asset health and failure trends across the network
  • Develop lifecycle models for protection equipment
  • Provide expert input during network design and modification projects
  • Lead technical reviews for protection system performance
  • Drive innovation in asset monitoring and diagnostic techniques
  • Manage relationships with external technical consultants
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment with corporate asset management frameworks
  • Contribute to risk assessment and mitigation planning
  • Support incident investigations involving protection systems
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards
  • Promote engineering best practices across asset teams
  • Lead project delivery for strategic asset improvements
  • Evaluate new technologies for integration into protection systems
  • Ensure documentation standards are met for all strategy outputs
  • Support training and capability development for engineering staff
  • Work with data analytics teams to improve forecasting models
  • Coordinate with maintenance planning functions
  • Advise on obsolescence and replacement strategies
  • Ensure environmental and sustainability factors are considered in asset decisions
