The Boeing Company is looking for a Lead Data Engineer to own the delivery of advanced flight and maintenance data analytics products. At Boeing, you'll be part of an integrated product team responsible for data analysis, data maintenance, and data product development, creating innovative digital solutions that optimize aircraft operations, maintenance, safety, and efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with team members, Product Owners, Product Managers, and Data Scientists in an Agile environment.
- Research complex processes, applications, systems, and data to identify functional requirements.
- Consult with customers to clarify and refine complex requirements, translating them into functional specifications.
- Lead and perform activities to develop and execute tests validating system functionality against specifications.
- Help design and build scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems and environments.
- Participate in work and code reviews with the team.
- Take part in implementing and supporting continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Contribute to building the overall knowledge and expertise of the technical team.
- Think strategically about product future and work with senior developers and the tech lead to improve current systems on high availability, scalability, fault tolerance, performance, and operational excellence.
- Apply your knowledge of cloud services and solutions provided by GCP, Azure, or AWS.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of progressive experience in software development and/or data analysis.
- 5+ years of experience with languages like SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis.
- Expertise in Data pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow, Azure Data Factory).
- Expertise in Database design principles, normalization/denormalization.
- 3+ years of working experience with Cloud development.
- 3+ years of experience with production-level Software Development.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada.
- Individuals must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods.
- Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.
Nice to Have
- Rich domain knowledge on the aviation industry; experience with large-scale flight data or Maintenance Engineering Data.
- Databricks platform experience with the Spark ecosystem.
- Experience in Data governance frameworks implementation.
- Experience in Data quality tools and methodologies.
- Streaming data technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, Event Hubs).
- Experience with cloud-deployed APIs and micro-services.
- A bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working in a global technology organization and managing many stakeholders.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary Range: $101,000.00 - $179,000.00 CAD
