The Boeing Company is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to own the delivery of advanced flight and maintenance data analytics products. You will join an integrated product team responsible for data analysis, maintenance, and product development, working closely with leadership and stakeholders to implement technical roadmaps.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and team members in an Agile environment.
- Research processes, applications, systems, and data to identify functional requirements for design.
- Consult with customers to clarify and translate complex requirements into functional specifications.
- Lead activities to develop and execute tests to validate system functionality.
- Help design and build scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems.
- Participate in code and work reviews with the team.
- Take part in implementing and supporting continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Contribute to building the overall knowledge and expertise of the technical team.
- Work with senior developers and tech leads to improve systems for high availability, scalability, fault tolerance, performance, and operational excellence.
- Apply knowledge of cloud services and solutions from GCP, Azure, or AWS.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of progressive experience in software development and/or data analysis.
- 5+ years of experience with SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis.
- Expertise in data pipeline orchestration tools like Airflow or Azure Data Factory.
- Expertise in database design principles, normalization, and denormalization.
- 3+ years of working experience with Cloud development.
- 3+ years of experience with production-level Software Development.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada.
- Individuals must not pose a risk for safeguarding controlled goods.
- Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.
Nice to Have
- Rich domain knowledge in the aviation industry, especially with large-scale flight data or Maintenance Engineering Data.
- Databricks platform experience with the Spark ecosystem.
- Experience implementing Data governance frameworks.
- Experience with Data quality tools and methodologies.
- Experience with streaming data technologies like Kafka, Kinesis, or Event Hubs.
- Experience with cloud-deployed APIs and micro-services.
- A bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working in a global technology organization and managing many stakeholders.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $101,000.00 - $179,000.00 CAD
