INNIO is seeking a Lead Application Engineer for Jenbacher Engines to serve as the technical link between Engineering and Sales teams. You will determine the best technical solutions for customers and lead teams on specific sales opportunities throughout the pre-sales and promotion process.
What You'll Do
- Proactively promote and position Jenbacher gas engine technology early in the project phase.
- Lead and/or participate in regional demand creation activities.
- Prepare technical bid and contract documents based on tenders and non-standardized inquiries.
- Provide engineering support for Jenbacher Sales Channels and regional commercial teams.
- Provide technical data for non-standard and/or locally supplied components.
- Identify customer needs to support product program preparation or drive technical special release processes.
- Participate in customer presentations, discussions, negotiations, and all front-line efforts.
- Train the sales force on the latest technical knowledge and information.
- Support the development and maintenance of standard Sales Manuals and Sales Tools.
- Lead small groups on a project basis and align with different functions within the organization.
- Hold global technical responsibility for select gas products and solutions.
- Provide second-level support for the regional application engineering team.
- Give presentations in Spanish and English in front of large groups of partners, customers, and sales employees.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of engineering experience in the relevant industry, preferably in the reciprocating engine industry.
- Project Management capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and navigate across a matrix organization.
- A valid work permit for Mexico.
- Higher Technical College (HTL), preferably electrical and/or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical discipline such as mechanical or electrical engineering, thermodynamics, or technical process management.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Experience in elaborating complex application engineering tasks with interdisciplinary thinking and action.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills for technical negotiations and formal presentations.
- High motivation level and a self-starter mindset.
- Experience and strong skills in negotiation with different customer/supplier levels and management.
- Proven competency in transferring know-how to internal, external, and regional teams and co-workers.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in a third language.
