Grupo Bancolombia is hiring a Lawyer II to provide specialized legal counsel to our Personal Banking business. You will ensure contracts and guarantees are properly documented and enforceable, mitigating the bank's legal, operational, and reputational risk.
What You'll Do
- Define legal solutions and provide advice to commercial area managers and executives for structuring deals related to contracts and guarantees.
- Resolve legal queries from the start of each transaction, accompanying commercial teams in client meetings and credit authority presentations.
- Ensure transactions and their guarantees are structured validly for potential execution by the Bank and review aspects affecting clients in restructurings.
- Review, analyze, and monitor transaction structuring to avoid reprocessing by operational areas during formalization.
- Analyze and define legal criteria for developing the Group's banking policies, manuals, and standards.
- Train and update commercial area managers and executives on contracts, guarantees, and other relevant topics.
- Issue legal criteria and act as a communication channel with business areas from transaction structuring through formalization.
What We're Looking For
- Graduated professional in Legal Sciences.
- A practicing Lawyer and Notary authorized by the Supreme Court of Justice.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Credit Structuring, Corporate Law, or related fields.
- Knowledge of corporate law and regulations applicable to Boards of Directors, Committees, and Shareholders' General Meetings.
- Understanding of financial and regulatory legislation issued by the SSF and other control entities.
- Experience in the preparation, review, and formalization of legal documents like minutes, powers of attorney, and corporate agreements.
- Familiarity with registration, modification, and update procedures before the National Registry Center and regulatory entities.
- Proficiency in legal document management, traceability control, and compliance with regulatory deadlines.
- Ability to identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
- Capability to issue well-founded legal criteria and provide advice to different areas of the conglomerate.
Nice to Have
- A Master's degree or diplomas in banking law, corporate law, or related areas.
