Viatris is hiring a Key Account Manager, Institutional Sales to join our team covering the Philadelphia/Pittsburgh territory. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of generic injectables, unit dose, and some brand products, analyzing sales data, managing contracts and pricing, and driving compliance with GPO awards.
What You'll Do
- Analyze sales data for a portfolio of more than 180 Injectable NDCs and 120 Unit dose NDCs.
- Manage position and pricing for each customer depending on their Acute Care GPO and alternate contracts.
- Drive compliance to GPO Awards and position back-up contracts to sell the entire Viatris portfolio.
- Monitor competitive awards, market position, and associated contracts to aid in sales positioning and RFP processes.
- Follow, report, and take action on market supply conditions and shortages via ASHP and FDA Drug Shortages domains.
- Support customers with drop ships and communicate shortages to supply chain for forecast planning.
- Work with National Wholesalers, Buyers, Customer Relations, and National Account Managers to ensure appropriate inventory levels.
- Ensure pricing is loaded accurately and validate contract eligibility for customers.
- Collaborate with other business units’ sales, leadership and pricing teams.
- Participate in Conferences and Advisory Boards in a rotation with other colleagues.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to promote contract compliance and product use.
- Cover a prescribed customer call cycle and conduct account reviews for each customer.
- Maintain updated customer account profiles and client tracking information.
- Analyze sales figures and territory data for accounts and interpret findings.
- Communicate with assigned group headquarters and key committee members within the territory.
- Monitor competitor activities and pricing and communicate pertinent information to management.
- Complete and submit all required paperwork and perform laptop responsibilities.
- Handle corporate resources responsibly.
- Conduct all activities in accordance with Compliance standards, laws, regulations, and Viatris policies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- A four-year college degree.
- A minimum of three years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or medical sales.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical or medical sales processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of human physiology and biology.
- Basic understanding of pharmaceutical/medical distribution processes.
- Ability to travel up to 50% by vehicle and airplane, lifting 30 pounds minimum.
- Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English is required.
Nice to Have
- Institutional or Hospital sales experience.
Team & Environment
You will report directly to a District Sales Manager.

Work Mode
This is a local-city role covering the Philadelphia/Pittsburgh territory, which includes areas in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New Jersey such as Youngstown, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Scranton, Lancaster, and Central and South New Jersey.
