This role is central to ensuring that our AI-driven platform operates within the boundaries of international law, particularly in data protection, consumer rights, and ethical AI governance. The Junior/Mid AI Legal Specialist will work closely with the Ethics & Compliance Officer to implement robust compliance frameworks, support cross-border data transfers, and maintain up-to-date legal documentation. You will play a key role in assessing the legal implications of AI-generated content, advising on regulatory developments such as the EU AI Act, and ensuring that our practices meet or exceed global standards. Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with international AI and e-commerce regulations across jurisdictions
- Draft, update, and manage data protection agreements, transfer impact assessments, and related legal documentation
- Maintain internal records and policies covering data privacy, AI governance, and consumer protection laws
- Keep an up-to-date inventory of AI systems in alignment with EU regulatory expectations
- Conduct risk evaluations under applicable product safety and digital service regulations
- Review new products and features for compliance with data protection and consumer rights standards
- Manage routine compliance operations, including intellectual property matters such as takedown notices and infringement issues
- Support contract management by reviewing NDAs, licensing agreements, and vendor documentation
- Maintain and revise public-facing legal terms, including Terms of Service, Privacy Notices, and content guidelines
- Monitor and interpret evolving legal and regulatory developments relevant to AI and digital platforms
- Collaborate regularly with the Ethics & Compliance Officer to address compliance challenges and develop governance strategies
- Engage in discussions about unfiltered AI-generated content, including material that may be sensitive or explicit
Requirements
- Completed legal education such as a Master of Laws, Juris Doctor, or equivalent recognized legal credential
- 2 to 6 years of professional experience in a legal advisory or similar compliance-focused role
- Minimum of two years working directly with data protection laws and contractual frameworks
- Familiarity with drafting and managing Data Protection Agreements and Transfer Impact Assessments
- Proven experience in handling vendor communications related to contract compliance and data processing
- Ability to explain complex legal topics clearly and concisely in non-technical language
- Strong interest in artificial intelligence and its legal and ethical implications
- Full professional fluency in English
