About the Role
This role involves assisting in the continuous oversight of renewable energy assets, responding to operational alerts, and maintaining compliance with grid standards through coordinated actions.
Responsibilities
- Monitor performance of wind, solar, and energy storage systems in real time
- Respond to system alarms and escalate issues according to protocols
- Log operational events and maintain accurate records in control systems
- Support communication between field teams and control center staff
- Assist with scheduling maintenance and outage reporting
- Follow procedures for grid compliance and reliability standards
- Provide updates during emergency or abnormal operating conditions
- Coordinate with transmission operators during system disturbances
- Track and report generation output and availability metrics
- Participate in shift handovers and operational briefings
- Maintain situational awareness across multiple energy sites
- Assist in testing monitoring and control systems
- Follow cybersecurity protocols for operational technology
- Use SCADA and related software to observe system status
- Contribute to incident documentation and post-event reviews
- Adhere to safety policies and emergency response plans
- Support compliance with NERC and regional regulatory requirements
- Assist in data validation for reporting accuracy
- Communicate operational changes to relevant stakeholders
- Engage in ongoing training for system proficiency and certifications
Compensation
Competitive hourly wage with shift differentials and benefits package including health insurance, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
Work Arrangement
On-site with rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays; occasional remote coordination possible during non-critical periods.
Team
Part of a 24/7 operations team within the renewable energy control center, reporting to senior operators and dispatch supervisors.
