CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is looking for a (Junior) Data Centre Hardware Technician to join our team. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience supporting mission-critical data center operations in a dynamic environment.
What You'll Do
- Assist with rack and stack of servers and network gear
- Perform basic cabling tasks for both fiber and copper systems and labeling
- Support hardware swaps and break/fix activities under supervision
- Provide smart hands support for remote engineering teams
- Monitor environmental conditions and report incidents
- Help maintain inventory and assist with audits
- Follow change management and compliance procedures
- Document hardware issues and resolutions accurately
- Escort vendors and ensure physical access control compliance
What We're Looking For
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in an IT or related field
- Passion for server hardware and data center operations
- Familiarity with server components and cabling systems
- Exposure to Linux and basic command-line tools
- Understanding of safety protocols and structured cabling practices
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Organized and detail-oriented approach to tasks
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with GPU-based servers or high-performance computing
- Basic scripting knowledge, such as Python or Bash
- Certifications such as CompTIA Server+ or CCNA
- Familiarity with DCIM tools and cabling standards
