Ash & Harris Executive Search is seeking a remote Application Engineer - Excitation to provide critical technical support for sales efforts in the utilities and industrial market. This role facilitates the sales process by assisting customers with product selection, application, troubleshooting, and promotion.
What You'll Do
- Assist customers in the proper selection and application of company products for systems and discrete components.
- Support customers with installation, start-up, calibration, troubleshooting, and problem solving for products and related systems.
- Travel, as required, to assess product potential, understand customer needs, and assist in product and system sales.
- Maintain communication with sales territories to ensure application assistance aligns with sales plans.
- Present products, systems, and solutions to customers at scheduled conferences and industry events.
- Assist in promotion activities, including product literature reviews and participation in trade shows, technical conferences, and schools.
- Interface with marketing and project teams to provide market feedback for product specifications and development.
- Survey and define market needs, assisting in market research and competitive information collection.
- Present technical papers at industry conferences and assist in creating sales tools like application notes.
- Lead other application specialists in their daily activities.
What We're Looking For
- BSEE degree.
- Experience with 3 phase power systems in the Utilities and Industrial Market.
- Experience within excitation systems or rotating equipment.
- Minimum five years experience as an Application Specialist or Engineer.
- Working knowledge of generating power systems and analog and digital circuitry.
- Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time in assigned sales territories.
- Must have legal right to work in the US (e.g., citizenship, permanent resident, GC).
- Experience selling to a power plant, Hydro, etc., with knowledge of where voltage goes, genset operations, regulators, etc.

- Experience with static frequency converters.
