Jack Link’s Protein Snacks is hiring an FSQ Auditor for the 3rd Shift to uphold the highest standards of food safety and quality. In this role, you will support the implementation of HACCP, SOP, and SQF programs while performing critical plant-wide auditing functions. You’ll ensure product specifications are met, customer expectations are achieved, and all quality issues are identified and addressed.
What You'll Do
- Perform quality inspections on random product samples to ensure they meet company standards for thickness, weight, length, count, and metal detection.
- Conduct pre-op inspections and first piece checks at the start of a shift or new product changeover.
- Monitor overall food safety and quality to ensure accurate product identification and recipe adherence.
- Follow plant hold and release procedures.
- Enter quality inspection data into electronic and written forms.
- Record deviations into a compliance tracker and inform the lead or supervisor.
- Process inbound and outbound supplier corrective action requests.
- Perform weekly and daily audits.
- Prepare necessary forms and trend charts to support kitchen or packaging inspection functions.
- Implement corrective actions on deviations found during inspections.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Review and close out hold tags as necessary, reporting any that are missing.
- Verify equipment is in good condition and calibrated as needed.
- Maintain HACCP, SSOP, SQF, and Prerequisite program accuracy, completeness, and implementation.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, SOPs, and SSOPs, observing team members for compliance.
- Act as a backup for daily operational checklists.
- Assist the Quality Control Supervisor in investigating serious or repeated quality problems.
- Maintain the SQF and HACCP book, keeping all documents up to date.
- Assist with Quality Control and Production audits.
- Perform all duties within OSHA and company safety standards, including LOTO and wearing PPE.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Immediately report all accidents and deficiencies.
- Ensure safety devices are installed and working properly.
- Monitor the work environment for general food safety hazards.
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with coworkers and leaders.
- Keep the foreman or supervisor informed daily of problems.
- Suggest improvements and continuously improve the quality of all support activities.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of experience and/or training in a manufacturing or food environment.
- An aptitude for math is required.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Superior accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to find solutions for or proactively deal with work-related problems.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to organize and prioritize in a multi-tasking environment.
- Ability to collaborate with remote employees and work as part of a team.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Firm knowledge of quality assurance methods, product testing, standard measurements, regulatory compliance, and documentation procedures.
- Proficient in Internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Effective leadership, problem-solving, presentation, and employee motivational skills.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge and experience in quality systems and production.
- Prior knowledge of food processing equipment.
- Basic knowledge of supply chain, purchasing, materials, and/or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of SAP.
- HACCP certification preferred (must be completed within 6 months if hired).
- Ability to calibrate delicate instruments and take accurate readings on fine gauges.
- College degree.

Benefits & Compensation
- For 3rd Shift (Fri-Sun, 4am-6pm): $22.50 to $24.50 per hour ($20.00-$22.00 base + $2.50 Shift Differential).
- For 2nd Shift (Mon-Thu, 2:30pm-2:30am): $23.00 to $25.00 per hour ($20.00-$22.00 base + $3.00 Shift Differential).
