PwC is looking for a Benefits Director to join our IT Services team. This Director-level role is responsible for leading strategic efforts around our employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and overseeing day-to-day administration. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy to develop and manage these critical programs for the firm.
What You'll Do
- Manage and administer all employee benefits programs.
- Develop strategic priorities to drive and support firm-wide employee benefit initiatives.
- Act as an internal advisor on regulatory requirements and changes.
- Coordinate with HR contacts and external vendors to maintain program documents and ensure compliance.
- Conduct periodic reviews and audits of benefit plans to maximize value and achieve cost savings.
- Identify benefit trends to keep plans competitive and up-to-date.
- Interpret and communicate benefit plan provisions, policies, and processes as the escalation point.
- Manage multiple relationships with external vendors, including initiating critical conversations about performance.
- Successfully manage RFPs from initiation to implementation.
- Demonstrate fiduciary responsibilities for a stand-alone entity.
- Create new benefit programs and improve upon existing ones.
- Manage a team, including coaching, mentoring, and developing staff.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience leading strategic benefit efforts and teams.
- High School Diploma.
- Executive-level ability in directing benefits efforts at a national level.
- Extensive experience managing teams and conceiving policies for benefit plan administration.
- Extensive knowledge and specialization of ERISA, Section 125, COBRA, HIPAA, PPACA, and other benefit laws and regulations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of typical US employee benefits offerings and associated legislation.
- Extensive knowledge of employee leave requirements at federal, state, and local levels.
- Strong ability to manage multiple relationships with external vendors.
- Successful management of RFPs and familiarity with system integrations.
- Extensive contacts and relationships with US providers across all elements of employee benefits.
- Demonstrated success creating new benefit programs and working independently.
- Proven track record of managing a team.
- Customer focus, attention to detail, independent decision making, self-motivation, and strong work ethic.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong project management skills to design solutions, manage multiple initiatives, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Google and MS Office applications.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management, or a related field.
- Certifications: SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP; PHR/SPHR; CEBS.
- Experience with a professional services firm or a tech startup.
