Knight-Swift Transportation is looking for an IT Leader to provide crucial resource support to project managers and self-managed teams. In this role, you will oversee assigned employees, ensure processes and policies are followed, and be a key driver of career development for your team members.
What You'll Do
- Oversee assigned employees, ensuring appropriate staffing, adherence to budget constraints, and that systems meet organizational requirements.
- Ensure assigned employees have career development plans to build strong bench strength for future leaders and specialized contributors.
- Effectively oversee IT-related processes, ensure all IT policies are followed, and review and approve project team work prior to production deployment.
- May develop software and ensure applications are ready for approval and promotion into production.
- May participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) reviews as needed.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on various topics.
- Perform and direct the overall definition of information technology requirements.
- Review work of assigned employees by regularly meeting with project managers, scrum masters, or lead developers for performance feedback.
- Ensure senior IT leaders are made aware of all risks, problems, or potential problem situations in a timely manner.
- Refine technical and business skills through work assignments, advanced training, conference attendance, and participation in professional organizations.
- Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience as an application developer, scrum master, and/or IT project manager.
- Previous experience with other IT areas such as network or systems administration.
- A proven ability to lead and motivate others to achieve desired results.
- Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships, and influence others, including external vendors and service providers.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to understand key concepts and communicate effectively with technical staff, business stakeholders, and senior management.
- High levels of personal integrity when conducting professional affairs and handling sensitive, confidential data relating to risk and cost.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
