Great American Insurance Group seeks an IT Audit - Data Analytics Intern for the Spring, Summer, and/or Fall 2026 semester(s). You will perform internal audit engagements to assist in safeguarding assets and ensuring the reliability of company records, collaborating closely with audit teams.
What You'll Do
- Work closely with audit management and engagement coordinators to conduct internal audit engagements.
- Participate in simple to moderately complex audits of applications, operating systems, platforms, and operating procedures following prescribed processes.
- Collect data, document concern and risk areas, and assist in developing solutions.
- Verify the effectiveness of controls at the network, operating system, database, and application level.
- Assist with annual Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) testing over IT General Controls.
- Provide support for independent auditors preparing System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II Reports.
- Attend process walkthrough meetings and assist in performing tests, leveraging data analysis techniques.
- Help identify possible operating improvements and participate in discussions with internal audit department management.
- Collaborate with external auditors and other business partners.
- Meet with company leaders to learn about their respective roles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business/Data Analytics, Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Current/most recent GPA of 3.25 or above.
- Familiarity with data analysis, business systems, and technology concepts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to utilize critical thinking and technical aptitude to draw conclusions based on presented information.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems of moderate complexity independently.
- Ability and willingness to work well in teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Nice to Have
- Campus involvement. Leadership experience is a plus.
- Experience with Adobe Pro and Microsoft Visio.
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI).
