Pacific Life Re is looking for an Investment Operations Analyst II to join its Collateral Operations team. This role independently executes daily derivatives collateral processes and resolves routine issues across counterparties, custodians, and internal partners, supporting the Pacific Life Investments division.
What You'll Do
- Execute daily variation margin and initial margin processes in accordance with CSA terms and internal controls.
- Prepare, issue, and respond to margin calls and monitor collateral movements through settlement.
- Reconcile collateral balances and investigate routine breaks across systems and statements.
- Coordinate with counterparties, custodians, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records to support audits, risk reviews, and regulatory inquiries.
- Identify and explore opportunities to improve processes to reduce risk and increase scalability.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Two or more years of experience in collateral management, derivatives operations, or investment operations.
- Working knowledge of margining concepts and collateral workflows.
- Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage daily deadlines and competing priorities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience with bilateral OTC collateral.
- Exposure to collateral systems or margin platforms.
- Comfort reviewing CSA terms and applying them to daily processing.
- Interest in strengthening controls and operational resilience.
