As Co-op or intern you will: - Assist engineers on diverse electric infrastructure projects designing future distribution and transmission power system states - Generate innovative solutions to collect, store, and leverage electrical asset data implemented and gathered in field to enhance data-driven decision making. Construct and maintain electrical models using power flow software like PSSE and CYME - Generate scope of work documentation, cost estimates, and schedules for designated projects, engaging engineering and other subject matter experts as necessary - Collaborate with AES engineering and finance teams to construct project business cases utilizing financial modeling tools - Confirm project financial data submitted to annual budget review process - Oversee budget for assigned Transmission & Distribution annual investment programs - Implement Management of Change and Asset Governance processes for controlling equipment, systems, and process modifications - Engage in root cause analyses for significant Transmission & Distribution equipment failures - Support development and updates to Asset Life Cycle Plans for critical asset classifications - Operate in an Agile, collaborative environment partnering with technicians, engineers, regulatory experts, and professionals from varied backgrounds to resolve complex challenges - Conduct site visits to substations or engineering locations to validate electric facilities through field research and comprehend complex Transmission & Distribution systems - Participate in formalized AES-specific learning opportunities to advance knowledge towards accelerating responsible energy transition - Network with peers, AES leadership, and like-minded employees through dedicated events, lunch and learns, and speaker series - Utilize industry-leading software to examine potential electrical grid challenges and proactively propose solutions - Actively participate in open discussions identifying organizational improvement strategies for future energy landscape preparedness AES is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to building strength and delivering long-term sustainability through diversity and inclusion.
