PG&E is seeking an Intern to join the Electric Distribution Design and Estimating team. Under supervision, you will perform technical work connected to the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of Electric Distribution assets. This role provides hands-on experience within a major utility's engineering department.
What You'll Do
- Perform technical work in connection with the design, construction, maintenance, or operation of Electric Distribution assets.
- Complete typical assignments including chart making, preparing graphs, drawings, and sketches.
- Obtain and analyze engineering data.
- Assist in administrative work associated with technical office activities.
- Foster teamwork, innovation, and embrace new approaches to accomplish work more efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality design products on budget and on time.
- Support other team members in Electric Distribution Design and Estimating by assisting in designing UG and OH electric infrastructure.
- Work with and learn from other departments involved in Distribution Operations such as Maintenance, Construction, Asset Strategy, Distribution Planning, and Standards.
What We're Looking For
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering or data analytics discipline at an accredited University.
- Students must be continuing their education towards their degree during and/or after the internship.
- Must have a valid driver’s license or obtain one at least 30 days prior to start date.
Nice to Have
- EIT or FE certification.
- 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA.
- Engineering experience in utilities, municipalities, construction, or engineering consultation.
- Familiar with data analytic automation.
Team & Environment
You will be part of the Electric Distribution Design and Estimating department within the T&D Engineering Department.
Benefits & Compensation
- Hourly rate for a bachelor’s degree ranges from $24.52 to $29.81.
- Hourly rate for a master’s degree is $35.37.

This is a hybrid position based in Fresno.
