About the Role
The role involves providing legal expertise in intellectual property law, supporting innovation protection, advising on compliance, and managing IP portfolios across international jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Advise on intellectual property rights including patents, trademarks, and copyrights
- Draft and review licensing agreements and IP assignments
- Conduct IP due diligence for transactions and partnerships
- Support trademark registration and prosecution globally
- Monitor compliance with IP laws across multiple jurisdictions
- Assist in resolving IP disputes through negotiation or litigation support
- Provide guidance on open-source software usage and risks
- Evaluate freedom-to-operate issues for new product development
- Work with engineering and product teams to identify patentable inventions
- Manage relationships with external IP counsel and agents
- Maintain and update IP policies and procedures
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and investment deals with IP assessments
- Educate internal teams on IP best practices and legal risks
- Track and renew IP registrations and maintenance deadlines
- Analyze third-party IP portfolios for competitive intelligence
- Assist in domain name management and disputes
- Develop strategies for global IP protection
- Ensure adherence to data privacy laws in IP contexts
- Review marketing materials for trademark compliance
- Support enforcement actions against IP infringement
- Prepare legal opinions on IP ownership and validity
- Collaborate with international teams on cross-border IP issues
- Stay current on evolving IP laws and regulations
- Contribute to IP risk mitigation in software development
- Assist in drafting terms of use and end-user license agreements
