About the Role
This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end intake process, coordinating insurance pre-authorizations, and leading a team to ensure accurate and timely patient onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Lead the intake team to ensure consistent processing of patient referrals
- Monitor insurance authorization timelines and compliance standards
- Collaborate with clinical and billing teams to resolve coverage issues
- Develop workflows to streamline intake procedures and reduce processing delays
- Ensure documentation meets regulatory and payer requirements
- Track key performance metrics related to authorization turnaround times
- Train team members on policy updates and system changes
- Escalate complex cases to appropriate departments for resolution
- Maintain accurate records of patient eligibility and benefit verification
- Support audits by providing required intake and authorization documentation
- Coordinate with external partners to verify referral completeness
- Implement process improvements based on operational feedback
- Respond to inquiries from patients and providers regarding authorization status
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA and other privacy regulations
- Manage workload distribution to balance team capacity
