The State of South Carolina’s Spartanburg Community College is hiring an Instructor to teach History courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies. You will develop and maintain curriculum while participating in college activities and promoting its mission.
What You'll Do
- Teach History courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies.
- Develop, revise, and maintain course materials.
- Recommend and design new programs.
- Maintain office hours.
- Participate in appropriate professional development opportunities.
- Participate in College and community activities and promote the mission of the College.
- Develop and implement retention strategies.
- Assist in graduate placement.
- Attend graduation ceremony.
- Assist with student advising and registration.
- Serve on College committees.
- Promote institutional goals.
- Assist with departmental administrative responsibilities.
What We're Looking For
- A master's degree in History or a master's degree in any field with 18 graduate credit hours in History.
Nice to Have
- A PhD in History.
- Experience teaching history courses online and in-person.
- Experience teaching college-level transfer courses to adults and dual enrollment students.
