Optum Tech, part of UnitedHealth Group, is hiring an Instructional Designer to create effective training solutions aimed at improving health outcomes. In this role, you will apply adult learning principles and collaborate with stakeholders to design and develop innovative learning programs.
What You'll Do
- Engage and collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify business needs, performance goals, and gaps.
- Conduct task analysis and research to determine the specific knowledge, skills, and behaviors required for desired performance.
- Apply adult learning principles and training best practices to create effective and innovative training design solutions.
- Develop evaluation approaches to measure achievement of learning objectives, including learning assessments.
- Create project plans for the design and development of identified training solutions.
- Develop a maintenance plan to ensure the ongoing applicability and effectiveness of training materials.
- Design appropriate learning activities based on training designs and objectives.
- Develop Storyboards and visualize instructional concepts.
- Leverage and modify existing training solutions to meet current needs.
- Demonstrate proficiency with tools like Articulate 360, Articulate Storyline 3, MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite, SnagIt, LMS, Vyond, and VideoScribe.
- Conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions to prepare trainers and validate their readiness.
- Run training pilots to identify issues needing resolution prior to full delivery.
- Monitor and analyze training metrics, data, and trends to identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct updates and debriefs with stakeholders to communicate training experiences and effectiveness.
What We're Looking For
- A graduate degree with 4+ years of experience as an Instructional Designer.
- 3+ years of experience creating Storyboards and using Articulate Storyline.
- Experience designing and developing both synchronous and asynchronous online learning solutions.
- Knowledge of current trends and technology supporting online learning, including methodologies like ADDIE and tools like Articulate Storyline.
- Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving and fact-based decision-making abilities.
