Flock Safety is looking for an Installation Technician to join our Field Operations team in Cincinnati, OH. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining public safety technology equipment in the field, ensuring our communities are safer and more secure. You’ll perform physical installation work, interact directly with customers, and handle administrative logistics.
What You'll Do
- Install poles of varying lengths per specifications, digging holes a minimum of 8” x 36”.
- Mount solar panels on poles and attach external batteries.
- Affix license-plate reading cameras with PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) technology to poles.
- Work on both public and private roads, often on equipment 10-12’ high.
- Regularly work with a bucket truck and/or ladder to access equipment up to 30 feet high.
- Repair minor breaks in underground irrigation or private wiring.
- Provide installation photos via the Flock field app on a mobile device.
- Perform administrative tasks including inventory management and receiving product shipments.
- Meet with customers to discuss installation options and perform site surveys.
- Interpret traffic control plans and permit drawings to identify proper installation locations.
- Perform all work in a safe and professional manner.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to perform frequent or continuous bending, digging, reaching, climbing, squatting, sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
- Ability to independently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable driving a work van (Ford Transit) and occasionally a 1 ton pickup truck (Ram 3500) or towing a small trailer.
- Prior use of power tools, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment.
- Must be comfortable working on ladders at high heights.
- Handyman-like experience, whether personal or professional.
- Good time-management, organization, and communication skills.
- Desire to work outdoors and comfort working in all weather conditions.
- General tech knowledge and the ability to learn and work with new software and tools.
- Basic computer skills, including Office Suite, Google Suite, and email.
- Required availability: M-F during daylight hours, with overtime sometimes expected.
- Must be able to travel up to 3 hours away regularly, and occasionally up to 8 hours away with overnight accommodations provided.
Nice to Have
- Prior field work experience: construction, security systems, low voltage wiring, or similar.
- Prior knowledge of operating a bucket truck.
