AirGarage is hiring an Installation Engineer (Security Technician) to deploy our parking technology nationwide. This role is focused on installing, testing, and optimizing license plate recognition (LPR) systems and occupancy camera setups at parking facilities. It requires 100% travel, independent work, and collaboration with hardware R&D teams.
What You'll Do
- Travel independently (and sometimes in teams) to installation sites across the U.S.
- Install and configure license plate recognition systems, occupancy cameras, and related hardware.
- Conduct site surveys to determine optimal device placement and wiring needs.
- Pull and terminate low-voltage wiring such as Ethernet, coax, and power, ensuring secure, weather-resistant connections via conduit.
- Drill and mount devices on a variety of surfaces including concrete poles, building facades, and parking structures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve field issues related to hardware, signal, power, and alignment.
- Collaborate with engineering to suggest product improvements and document field feedback.
- Maintain accurate job documentation and update installation records digitally from the field.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in security systems, LPR, CCTV, or low-voltage hardware installation.
- Proficiency with power tools and mounting techniques (impact driver, hammer drill, conduit benders).
- Experience installing hardware in outdoor and rugged environments like asphalt, poles, and garages.
- Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism on-site.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high quality standards.
- Critical thinking and advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Desire to learn and build expertise in new technical domains.
- Ability to use a cell phone and laptop to document progress and test installations.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to lift 70 lbs, bend down, climb a ladder, and reach overhead.

- Licensing in relevant fields would be a big plus.
