LocalEdge is seeking a Billing Supervisor to lead our Billing Department, ensuring end-to-end operations comply with regulations and drive team performance. You will be responsible for driving productivity and achieving key metrics within the billing revenue cycle.
What You'll Do
- Supervise and drive productivity at the individual and team level.
- Lead the team in achieving monthly reduction in Accounts Receivable (AR) and monthly team metrics/KPIs.
- Create efficiencies by improving processes and identifying best practices in customer service.
- Handle highly escalated service issues with patients, clinical locations, carriers, or agents.
- Recruit, hire, engage, coach, and train new and existing team members.
- Develop and administer quarterly employee performance evaluations.
- Monitor, review, and approve time sheets and time away requests.
- Troubleshoot and research process/payer issues for leadership.
- Review operational data to assess the need for procedural revisions.
- Maintain a positive work environment and foster cross-training.
- Oversee the review/approve function for junior team members' write-off batches.
- Assist junior team members with complex work-related issues and departmental processes.
- Assist with handling dissatisfied customers, resolving complaints, and BBB requests.
- Manage phone queue, monitoring call flow, volume, AHT, ASA, Abandoned Calls, and quality.
- Responsible for complex reporting & analysis of daily/weekly/monthly department metrics/KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
- Track and review employee time for compliance with company policies.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement management action plans.
- Effectively onboard and assist with training of new hires and existing team members.
- Assist in implementing new payor contracts and updates to existing contracts.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years in a leadership capacity (team lead, supervisor, or increasing leadership responsibility).
- 4+ years advanced experience of Medicare, Medicaid and/or Commercial Insurance.
- 4+ years advanced knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Office and telephony systems.
Nice to Have
- Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, related field, or medical billing certificate.
- 4+ years advanced experience in oxygen or HME billing.
- Experience using Oracle, Brightree, and Salesforce.
- Certification in Revenue Cycle (e.g., CRCR) or Project Management (e.g., PMP).
