Briggs & Stratton is looking for an Information Security Intern to provide valuable support for our security-minded, risk-aware team. You will gain hands-on experience by participating in projects that broaden your skillset and enhance foundational knowledge, complementing your academic studies. The role involves engaging with supervisors, team members, project leaders, and other business functions.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with team members to enhance security controls, processes, and runbooks.
- Engage with internal employees to educate and assist them with security best practices.
- Monitor for potential threats and suspicious activities.
- Assist in investigating and documenting security incidents.
- Participate in vulnerability management processes.
- Assist with security awareness training programs.
What We're Looking For
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university studying toward a Bachelors/Associates degree in a specified function.
- Must complete the sophomore year in the major program of study prior to beginning a co-op.
- Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0.
- Candidates should have a long-term interest in the information security field.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Possess poise and the ability to interact with people in a professional manner.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving and analysis skills.
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on work experience in a specified function is helpful.
Work Mode
This internship is an onsite position located in Wauwatosa, WI.
