Orca Bio is looking for an Informatics Analyst to join our Enterprise Advanced Analysis team. In this role, you will focus on key performance indicators, external quality ratings, and survey submissions to translate data into clear, actionable insights. You will also serve as a critical liaison between Quality Management Services and other institutional groups.
What You'll Do
- Focus on key performance indicators, external quality ratings, and survey submissions.
- Utilize analytical, technical, and statistical techniques in data management, governance, and analytics.
- Collaborate with Quality and IT colleagues on data collection methods, writing, archival, and application of statistical methods.
- Act as a liaison between Quality Management Services and other institutional groups, linking business information requirements to data and analytic solutions.
- Serve as a resource providing system design/build, support, maintenance, and education for data and analytic solutions.
- Develop analytics tools that can be used by other staff with non-technical expertise.
- Use statistical and optimization modeling techniques to build, predict, maintain, and improve on multiple real time decision systems.
- Model and frame business scenarios that impact critical business processes and/or decisions.
- Develop innovative and effective approaches to solve client's analytics problems and communicate results and methodologies.
- Present and communicate insights to key stakeholders and leadership.
What We're Looking For
- A Master’s degree in computer science, analytics, engineering, informatics, nursing, statistics, or business along with a minimum of three years of applicable work experience; or a bachelor's degree in those fields along with a minimum of five years applicable work experience; or if Doctorate degree, one year of relevant experience.
- Understanding of the health care industry, associated key quality performance drivers, regulatory requirements, the electronic health record environment (e.g., Epic, Clarity), and the latest industry developments in analytics or demonstrated commitment and/or desire to learn.
- Knowledge of data analytic tools such as Business Objects, Crystal Reporting, SQL Script, Excel, Tableau, or similar.
- Expected level of data mining experience in software programming using OR packages, simulation, R, Python or SAS, and other data mining tools.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Applicable work experience includes data warehousing fundamentals, utilization of applications for data extraction, integration, and delivery.
- Inquisitiveness, along with the ability to think logically and systematically to analyze and evaluate alternate solutions.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Achievement of an associated certification such as CPHIMS, RN-BC, NI-BC, CPHI, or other agreed-upon certification.
Nice to Have
- Lean Six Sigma experience.
- Mayo Clinic Quality Academy Silver Fellow.
- Clinical credentials or Health Information Management Credentials (e.g., MSN, RN, BSN, RHIA, RHIT).
- Knowledge of data analytics tools such as Power BI and Tableau.

This is a hybrid position. Candidates must live within driving distance to a Mayo Clinic Campus.
